The Joshua Files - Invisible City
My rating out of 10 for this book would have to be 9/10, because this is the best book I’ve ever read. I looked at it, read the first page and loved it.
My Review of the Book
Joshua thought his life was pretty awesome, but then his father was reported dead, when his aeroplane crashed in Mexico… For this book, the saying "You can't judge a book by its cover," is sadly mistaken. It has an awesome cover and inside the book is even better. You start reading and the story just gets better and better. To say that this novel is exciting is a major understatement. Once you’ve started, you can’t put it down. You’re stuck in the fast paced action and as you read along, you think, "What more can happen?" Joshua has to travel into one of the many Mexican jungles, with an international criminal man following him. Josh must try and find the truth about an incredible Mayan secret and at the same time try to avoid the deadly jungle and survive long enough to find out about this secret.
Who is M.G.Harris?
M.G Harris was born in Mexico City, but came to England as a young child. She would have regular visits back in Mexico. She, then, became fascinated by Mayan archaeology and made several trips, to Mayan ruins in Yucatan and Chiapas. On one of her first trips she found something that seeded the idea for The Joshua Files.
M.G. studied biochemistry at Oxford University, and spent several years working in research laboratories, before setting up an internet company. While recovering from a skiing accident, M.G. began writing Invisible City, the first book in the Joshua Files series. M.G. now lives in Oxford.

Q: What inspired you to write The Joshua Files?
A: The Joshua Files is partly an idea I had when I was fifteen and I’ve kept it going. It came to me when I first visited the Mayan ruins of Yucatan and heard some of the more outlandish theories about Maya and its people. The idea of a young teenage boy searching for a very old lost Mayan codex spun into a thriller. While I was writing as I attempted to write as novel, while I was nursing a broken leg from a skiing accident.
Q: What books did you like to read when you were younger?
A: When I was younger, my favourite books were adventure stories eg. Tintin and E.Nesbit, but my favourite of them all were the William books by Richmal Crompton. I adored William, because inside head, his whole life was an exotic adventure, even though he never left his little English village.
Q: What are your hobbies when you’re not writing?
A: My main hobby is to do some salsa dancing, Cuban style. But lately I’ve taken up mixing cocktails. I’ve decided to blame my brother, because he got me into this a fattening and unhealthy hobby!
